How do you activate a radio with a light switch?

This is for my bathroom. I’ve seen others do it. Once you flip the light switch, a radio (clock radio or music box) inside turns on.
if you have the switch wired to a plug outlet, plug the radio into that so when you turn on that swith, the radio comes on then you can do this. the only other way is if you plug a motion sensor in the plug, then plug the radio into that. they sell those at lowe’s or home depot, and cost anywhere from $25.00 to $50.00. hope this helps.

Wire the switch to the outlet. That’s my guess.

The power to the radio is connected to the switched hot wire that feeds the lights. It is possible that the light fixture has an outlet built in to it. If that outlet on the fixture is powered by the same feed as the light then it would work as you want it to.

Are you trying to install a radio in your household circuit, or are you trying to figure out what makes a radio turn on and off? The most elegant way I can think of is to create a circuit just for the radio. I imagine this would be a permanent fixture in your bathroom? This might require you accessing inside your walls to relay wire to power the radio.
If you are referring to just plugging a radio into a wall, the outlet in the bathroom is either already on the same circuit as the light(s), or will need to be spliced into that circuit.
These methods mentioned involve working with household current, which is around 110 volts AC. This can be very dangerous, so excercise caution. If in doubt, consult an electrician.

You need a photo-relay. They sell these at Lowes. You plug the relay into the wall; in the socket where a lightbulb would go, you put in a socket adapter, turning it into an outlet. Plug your radio into it. When the light goes on, voila! Music.
