Do you think some of the music on radio today is having a effect on our kids?

A person used to be able to play country music while around children but don’t you think the music is becoming more and more unappropriate? For example all the songs about sex and now adays it seems alcohol has become a popular subject like Tequila makes her close fall off, and Alcohol, lets get drunk and be somebody, all jacked up. Do you agree with me that they are going to have a negative effect on our kids. Its funny for adults but I don’t think it should be on the radio! I have even heard the pep band at a high school basketball game play the song all jacked up!! Is it any wonder alcohol is becoming a increasing problem with our children today!

The worst for me is this gangsta rap music which sets a really bad example for kids. I understand that my parents also didn’t like the 60’s and 70’s music but compared to what goes now there is no comparison. They are really bad role models for kids with their anti-social antics!

i think rap music is such a bad influence on the youth of today…its amazing what they are aloud to get away with. I refuse to let my kids listen to rap…but I’m sure they hear it when they are with friends but hopefully they have a strong enough spiritual sence that they can pull through. i do let them listen to emo-punk…

Alcohol has been a problem for decades, no centuries and radio has been influencing kids since they started broadcasting. Where have you been living ? Why would you think any of this is new ?

Do you think you have stumbled on to something new? People used to fear rock ‘n roll, Elvis, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana…. the list is endless… music is music, raise your children correctly and there is no problem

Yes, I think it has a negative effect on kids and shouldn’t be played on the air, however, I don’t believe it is the root cause of the rebellion of today’s youth. I think messed up kids are the way they are as a result of their parents lack of love and responsiblity.

OH YES, THE MUSIC OF TODAY IS DEFINITELY AFFECTING OUR CHILDREN. RAP MUSIC IS SO DEMONIZED AND THOSE DEMONS ARE ENTERING INTO OUR CHILDREN. WHY DO YOU THINK THEY ARE DOING SO MANY CRIMES NOW, SUCH AS MURDER.

    yeah,i think so.

but the world and the music always goes around and go a head in the way that sometime hard to accept, anyway we can’t avoid it,it’s the global,so what we can do is try to live with it.

i recommend u to watch TV or listen radio. with those all kinds of music with your kids, explain them what they see on TV or hear from radio which is good or not good.

I think all music can have an effect on children, positive or negative . . . rap music, r&b, and even pop music all somewhat contains referrances to sex, drinking, or using drugs . . . and these celebrities are who our children look up to, so of course they think it’s cool or the "in" thing to do . . not to mention what they see when they watch the videos on BET or MTV . . half-naked girls shaking their booties all over the screen, which makes young girls think they have to wear next-to-nothing to catch a guy’s attention . . . needless to say, parents need to be parents more than ever, and stop letting the TV raise your children . . even day-time TV has gotten outrageous . . you can see a blown-sex scene on every soap opera . . not to mention the messages that are sent out on prime time TV episodes . . . everything our kids see and hear will have an effect on them . . think about the first time your young son/daughter heard you curse . . how long did it take for you to hear him/her repeat it??

that’s just it some parents don’t give a hoot if their kids are listening to trash especially if they are listening to it themselves. or better yet if not at home they will from their neighbor friends, or even at school like you said.
