How can I create an internet radio station?

June 18, 2010 - 1:36 am 2 Comments

I want to make an internet radio station, where someone can click a link and have a live feed of my radio station (when on). This station must allow me to play music AND have a bit of a talk show side to it, allowing me to have multiple speakers. Whats the best way to do this?

Please no listen2myradio crap, I need something good. Something that is LIVE aswell.

Don’t forget the music royalty fees are very high. Live365.com is a good choice

what is a good online radio station that plays ONLY the artists you want?

I’m looking for a online radio stations that allows a customizable station that will play only the artists that you want it to. I have a good one right now, but it mixes everything up, which frankly gets annoying when I have to keep skipping the song because I don’t like it or the artist, and yes, I know, I’m picky and shallow. ><

Definitely do Pandora, I love it.
you enter a song or artist you like, and then it goes from there with stuff like it, and you can thumbs up stuff you like and it will try to do more of that stuff, and thumbs down stuff you don’t like and it will stay away from that kind of stuff

How to take a live streaming radio / music station and embed it to stream on your website?

I’m wondering how I can take a live streaming radio music site, embed it into my HTML website code so I can have live streaming music.

I’m not looking to upload my music to a program then try and stream that way, I’m wondering if there is a simple way for me to just embed the link and it’ll stream or something like that.

thanks!

I use RadioDJ. It is a software that will work with SHOUTCast (Online Broadcasting). You will first need to go to http://www.shoutcast.com/download to download Winamp and the SHOUTCast DSP Plug-in. Then take a trip over to http://www.radiodj.ro/tutorials/tutorial_1_installing_mysql_and_radiodj.html to learn how to install MySQL and RadioDJ. You can also get to the download page from that link. Once you have everything setup, go to myradiostream.com and register for an account. This will allow you to stream to their server.

The process sounds complicated, but is very simple and the software is great. I am currently streaming at www.CHRRadio.tk. Before you go broadcasting, make sure you have a license to play music. If you are broadcasting in a high school for a class, you do not need a license.

Thanks.

Please let me know when you find out.
