is there anything i can buy to block out interference from taxi radios?

January 31, 2010 - 3:07 am 6 Comments

I get one heck of an interference on my TV from the local taxis as they use their radios (i live next to a main road).

Pleas help it is driving me NUTS!!!! thanks!
I can actually hear what they say and where they are going whilst the TV goes into white noise.
Thanks for your answers, but i DO use Digital TV, though with an indoor aerial.

Hiya !

One solution would be to use a couple of ferrite rings in your aerial lead – something like these from Maplin Electronics…

What would cause the radio in my truck to stop working one day?

January 31, 2010 - 3:07 am 6 Comments

I have a 96 dodge dakota and for some reason when I went out to start it today there was no power going to the radio. The clock didnt even work on it. I did check the fuse and it looked fine, so I just put it back in..What would cause the radio to just stop working?
It is a stock radio and no I havent tampered with anything. Is there a fuse behind the unit possibly?

replace the fuse, sometimes fuses look good but it might have a small break in it, if it’s not that I would look for a shorted or broken wire to the radio.

What is key combination for listening FM radio without using headset in nokia mobiles?

January 31, 2010 - 3:07 am 2 Comments

Is there any key combination which help me to listen FM radio wihout connecting headset/earphone, means I just want to play FM radio through loudspeaker without connecting any wire to mobile.

Please provide me solution.
Thanks
for example: Key combination like *#0000# for mobile model number with its version.

It is not possible, as the antenna is IN the wires on the headset. The antenna is needed or the radio will not work.

How do I listen to streaming radio on the internet, through my home stereo? Components needed?

January 31, 2010 - 3:07 am 4 Comments

Go to Radio Shack, they sell a cable that splits a headphone out jack to RCA jacks. Headphone side goes into your PC/sound card and RCAs into the home stereo. Works like a charm.

Make sure you watch the volume when you first turn it on.

what do radio stations require for employment?

January 31, 2010 - 3:07 am 3 Comments

I would like to become a radio personality! I have the heart and desire to, but i need help on getting started. I would like to know what it really is that radio stations are looking for. Degree? Experience?

A good voice, good reading skills, good personality, decent appearance and the desire to work crummy hours for low pay. Call your local radio station and see if you can volunteer and work your way into the busines that way. Radio voicing is almost a thing of the past so don’t waste your time getting a degree in media. Volunteer, learn the biz and work a few holidays.

Trying to figure out why my cd clock radios wont work on batteries. One radio ive had a few years the other i ?

January 28, 2010 - 11:31 pm 1 Comment

bought yesterday. Neither will work on batteries. The batteries are brand new and ive tested them with a battery tester and the battery tester is brand new. The batteries are duracell they say 9v2 on the package. The radios say they take one 9v battery. I dont know whats wrong.

The clock should still work on batteries, or maybe the batteries only act as a backup, so that when AC power is restored your clock is still set. Your cd player however will not work simply on a 9v battery.
