I want to put on in my car. I already have a CB radio, but those only get 2 miles of range. I know the Police have radios that get like, 20 miles of range, to talk to dispatch, but what are the radios that they use?

You can not get a police radio, legally, for your own use. But you can get a police scanner. Some places are all scrambled now.

And the range is not the radio. The range is by the system that is delivering the signal and how. It may be via many radio antenna towers scattered over a large area, or a repeater system that opens and closes circuits to boost the signal…….. or the now common technology used by the police of having their radio signals go through cell phone towers.

With the cell tower use, your range is pretty much unlimited, depending on the service the agency has set up with the provider. These signals are almost always scrambled.

How can radio waves continue to travel for ever in outer space?
On earth the radio waves from your favorite radio or TV station will only go 100 miles or so at the very most, but NASA and Astronomers say that they will travel almost for ever, or at least Billions and Trillions of miles with out stopping.
How is that possible?

Voyager 1 is so far from Earth in 1998 that it takes 9 hours 36 minutes for a radio signal traveling at the speed of light to reach Earth. Voyager’s signal, produced by a 20 watt radio transmitter, is so faint that the amount of power reaching NASA’s antennas is 20 billion times smaller than the power of a digital watch battery. Think that they will eventual fade into the noise of background radiation. We don’t know if our signals can leave the Sun’s magnetic heiloshpere

I tried using a bluetooth headset to listen to FM radio on my sony ericsson phone but it doesn’t work because FM requires the wired handsfree to be plugged in to act like an antenna and there doesn’t seem to be any way to send the radio’s sound to the bluetooth headset after that.

you can’t unless your phone supports fm radio, if it does then you have to plug in the headphones. enjoy your phone

How do I record a streaming radio broadcast?
The stream I’m trying to record is from live365.com,this stream has it’s own player and not in Real Player or Windows Media Player framework so I can’t find a record button.Any ideas how I can record to a file then burn to cd?Thanks

There is no legal way to record this. These are copyrighted broadcasts by the radio stations so no copying is allowed.

Why do we have to listen to commercials on the radio? I hate interruptions! Why can’t it just be a constant stream of music nonstop? Funny thing is that NONE of the religious broadcasters ever have commercials, period. Why does everything else have to have commercials?

Because their money needs to come from somewhere! Religious broadcasters most likely get their money from donations. But others need to sell advertisement space to fund their programs.

I have an LG VU and I want to find a good radio station I can stream off of through the mobile web. I know there is pandora but they want a fee. Is there somewhere online that is totally free and that works for mobile phones?

I just want to know if anyone know about radio station there is radio station in the net from my country in farsi language and I want to transfer it in the real station to people can listen it in the radio.

You can’t do that, unless you get an FM transmitter and connect it to your computer. Problem with that is that the range of the transmitter is very, very small and only has a 15 foot range, I believe.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to turn off internet radio stations? I have one that keeps coming on all by itself on my computer and i have tried EVERYTHING to turn it off and nothing is working. If anyone could i help me i would appreciate it, i am not even sure what radio station it is. I am running windows vista and i have a hp computer.

<start menu<control panel<add&remove programs, find the internet radio station and remove it, remove all icons and any other source and use www.pandora.com, I have it and does not have this feature. I also have a vista.

While watching the movie, you hear snippets of the talk radio stations that the character Dale Denton listens too. Does anyone have any clue what radio stations they are?

Probably fake ones made up for the movie…
